Yates Waste Rock Pile Reclamation and Relocation of Whitewood Creek

Frontier assisted Homestake Mining Company with Section 404 permitting issues associated with the reclamation of a waste rock pile at a historic gold mine. The reclamation included the restoration and relocation of over 2,000 feet of Whitewood Creek and the rehabilitation of aquatic and riparian-wetland habitats.

Frontier delineated riparian-wetlands, documented existing site conditions, prepared a revegetation plan, procured a Section 404 permit, and assisted with the characterization of physical parameters of Whitewood Creek. Frontier also assessed fish and wildlife habitat conditions, threatened and endangered species conditions, and potential impacts to riparian-wetlands and Whitewood Creek.
