Nevada Northern Railroad Rehabilitation Project

FRONTIER subcontracted with CRS Engineers to complete a wetland, playa, and stream channel delineation and jurisdictional assessment for an approximately 101.5 mile stretch of the Nevada Northern Railroad located in Elko and White Pine Counties, Nevada. The study corridor is located in the closed basins of the Goshute and Steptoe Valleys, and required special coordination with the USACE Reno Office to evaluate Clean Water Act jurisdiction. The railroad was originally built in 1908 and is planned for upgrades that will accommodate present-day freight train requirements.
